 |
Landlords
 |
Rental property, such
as fully furnished apartments and vacation
rentals, should be documented and updated on
a regular basis |
 |
Renters should also
document personal property |
 |
Documentation of the
Pre and Post "Move-In" condition of
apartment homes for large rental communities
and private investors. |
|
 |
Multiple Homeowners
 |
Splitters; people who
own two or more residences typically out of
state from one another |
 |
Super-splitters; people
who own three or more residences. |
|
 |
Renters
 |
First of all, Renter's
insurance is one of the most neglected areas
of consumer protection. If you don't have
one, get one. |
 |
Coverage is similar to
regular home owners policies in that your
personal items will be covered, however
there may be strict "per-category" limits to
consider. It may be necessary to buy a
"floater". This provides additional coverage
for specific items not included in your
basic policy.
|
 |
Renters insurance costs about $150 to $300 a
year depending on the amount of coverage,
the deductible and where you live.
